Narrator: Some people like to watch news on television. Other people prefer to read the news in the newspaper. Still others use their computers to get the news. How do you prefer to be informed about the news and why? Use specific reasons and examples to support your choice.

After you hear the question you will have 15 seconds to prepare and 45 seconds to record your answer.

This is an example response to the question.

Althouth newspapers contain some information that's limited to local interests and I like to turn to those pages, for the most part, I prefer to get my news on TV and on my computer. The problem with the printed news is that it takes so long to produce it that the stories could have changed or more important news could have happened minutes after the newspaper is delivered. So, I scan the local stories in the papers when I get home from work, then I watch the international news on TV at night for the most current information, and the following morning I click on one of the websites that offer the most recent updates of the lead stories. That way, I'm taking advantage of the best aspects of all the news media and I stay current locally and internationally.
